Beauty's Best 15 in 2015 - Part 2

5. Paula's Choice Resist Weightless Body Treatment

When I saw this product, I was very excited to try it!! This product contains 2% BHA (salicylic acid), which works as an exfoliant to reduce bumpy areas (keratosis pilaris) and soften rough, dry skin. After using this for about 6-8 weeks, once a day, I started to notice less bumps on the back of my arms and thighs. This lotion is lightweight, like the name says and has a silky texture. I had once been given a prescription lotion from my dermatologist that contained lactic acid, but I found it felt sticky and because of this I never used it long enough to get results. This product sells for $25 for 7 oz.

Tip - Paula's Choice sells facial exfoliants, like the one mentioned above. These sell for a higher price per ounce, due to the fact that they are formulated for specific skin types. If you do not want to invest in a separate exfoliant, this one can be used on your face, as long as it is well tolerated based on your skin type.

NOTE: Those allergic to aspirin (acetylsalicylate) should not use products containing salicylic acid (beta hydroxy acid).

I couldn't pick just one! The Maybelline concealer is inexpensive and provides great coverage. I use the neutralizer shade and sometimes use the brightener shade for extra coverage. The other concealer I just recently started using, but have been drawn to more lately is the Bare Minerals Bare Skin Concealer. It provides great coverage and because it's a "serum concealer" it tends to be more moisturizing than others. I think they are comparable to each other despite the different price points, Maybelline sells for around $8, while the Bare Minerals concealer sells for $20.

Note: The Maybelline concealer comes with a foam applicator, which the product dispenses through. I didn't like the applicator and thought it was wasting product so I took a chance and pulled it off. This is what it looks like once the foam applicator is removed. I usually dispense a small amount onto my finger or Q-tip and apply underneath my eyes. Maybelline, if you are reading, please change the packaging! A doe foot applicator would be lovely!

My absolute favorite eyeshadow of this year! It's amazing. See my first blog post for a full review!

From left to right: Perfume ID, my #1, go to, Rose for Romance and Sultry Seductress
These are some of the best drugstore eyeshadows I've used! I've reached for them often this year, although I've hardly made a dent in them! The quality is great, with a great consistency and great color pay off. These are compact on the go quads that you can throw in your purse or travel with. The quad has a diagram showing how to apply the colors and takes the guess work out of applying eyeshadow. The brand has a great color selection, some a little too risky for my taste, but I will continue to keep my eyes open, hoping they release new colors!
